In 2005, they worked together in Being Cyrus. Seven years later, actor-producer Saif Ali Khan and director Homi Adajania teamed up to deliver a box-office hit, Cocktail. And now, if all goes well, the two will once more come together for a period film.
"It is true that Homi's next film is on the cards with Saif. It's, in all likelihood, a period movie and will be produced under Saif's banner, Illuminati Films, with him in the lead," says a trade source, adding that the film will go on the floors towards the end of this year.
At the moment though, Saif and Homi are yet to finalise other details. "Saif is busy with Bullet Raja.
And since he is focusing on that, he doesn't want to divert his attention towards anything else. Also, he knows that Homi's next needs work since it's a period film," adds the source.
Besides Tigmanshu Dhulia's Bullet Raja, Saif only has Go Goa Gone in hand, and he has already completed shooting for it. "So now he will decide upon his next lot of films, and Homi's film features in that list. Now, it is all about working out the final details," adds the source.
Despite repeated attempts, Homi remained unavailable for a comment. But Saif didn't deny the project.
However, he only stated: "All announcements will be made in due course. Nothing is confirmed at the moment."
