Salman Khan shouldn't do art films: Govinda
Confirming reports that he has refused to work in Salman's Marathi production, Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho, Govinda adds that people don’t expect art films from him or Salman.
For a while now, Salman Khan has been trying to cast Govinda in his production venture, which is a remake of a hit
film, Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho, about the education system.
However, reports claimed that the latter hasn’t given his nod to the role offered to him. Now, Govinda confirms that he won’t take up the part, saying,"You shouldn’t do something your heart doesn’t like."
The ’90s star shares that the primary reason for not saying yes to the role was that he wasn’t convinced with the story. "When Mahesh Manjrekar (who’ll be directing the film) offered me the movie, I refused it...I told them, thought change
kar lo
(change the idea) and let’s do it’.
Par aaisa hua nahi
(But that didn’t happen)," says Govinda.
The actor also felt that he and
shouldn’t team up for an "art" film. "People don’t expect an art film from us. I kept requesting Salman to understand what I’m trying to say... But he does and says what he wants to," says Govinda.
