Salman Khan, who is one of the busiest stars in Bollywood right now, has given a go-ahead to the script of the sequel to his 2011 hit, Bodyguard. Produced by Salman’s brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri, the original project starred Kareena Kapoor Khan alongside Salman.
“The sequel was being planned for some time now. But the makers couldn’t zero in on a script. But now, the script has been found, and it has also got a nod from Salman. Although when the film will go on floors is not clear — as Salman has a number of commitments to take care of — the sequel is definitely going to take off,” says an insider.
Atul remains non-committal. “I don’t want to comment on the status of Bodyguard’s sequel right now. If I say anything, there will be one question after another. When everything gets finalised, I will be the first one to talk about it,” he says.
Currently, Salman is in Rajasthan to shoot for Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan (scheduled to release on Eid this year) and Sooraj Barjatya’s next (which will hit the theatres on Diwali). He also has Karan Johar’s production, Anees Bazmee’s sequel to the 2005 hit, No Entry, Mahesh Manjrekar-directed remake of his Marathi hit, Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho, and Aditya Chopra’s next production that is lined up for 2015.
