His stint on a reality TV show last year made him a household name, and now, wrestler
is all set to hit the big screen as he makes his Bollywood debut.
“I was offered a number of roles after my stint on the TV show, but this one was closest to my real life, and hence I chose this,” says Singh, who will be seen playing the role of a coach in a high-school drama.

“The film has a strong message, it raises several social issues. It attempts to motivate youngsters to keep away from things like addiction and to be more involved in sports. I help the youngsters in the film to take the right path,” says Singh, who is also a motivational speaker in real life.
Tentatively titled Vande Mataram, the film, is being produced by the makers of Ankur Arora Murder Case (2013), which was based on the critical issue of medical negligence.
“I am happy that through the film I will be able to do my bit to spread awareness in society. Moreover, this is also my chance to learn something more about showbiz, because I am just learning the ropes of acting,” confesses the 29-year-old.
Several sequences of the film will be shot in Delhi.
