Since May 2013, Sanjay Dutt has been serving his sentence at Pune’s Yerwada Central Jail.

Since May 2013, Sanjay Dutt has been serving his sentence at Pune’s Yerwada Central Jail. This also means that he has missed out on family functions, including the birthdays of his children, Shahraan and Iqra Dutt. The twins, who turned five on October 21, celebrated the day without their father for the third time in a row.

But, as they have done in the past as well, both Shahraan and Iqra marked the occasion with special messages for their father, which they will show him when he comes home. “Both of them are extremely attached to their father, and can’t wait to have him back home, which is expected to be some time next year,” says an insider.

That’s not all. We have also come to know that Dutt sends handmade birthday cards for both his kids from jail every year, wishing them lots of love. “Shahraan and Iqra are always happy to receive these cards, and they never let the cards out of their sight,” adds the insider.

While Dutt’s wife, Manyata, couldn’t be reached for a comment, a source close to the actor confirmed the news.
