Having directed films like Kaante (2002), Musafir (2004) and Zinda (2006), Sanjay Gupta is known for dark, edgy thrillers.

But now, the film-maker is set to change gears.

For the first time, he is going to produce an out-and-out comedy.

Writer-director Milap Zaveri, who wrote the dialogue for Gupta’s Shootout At Wadala, will direct a film titled Ooh La La for the latter’s production house.

Zaveri, in the past, has also directed Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai (2010) and he recently wrote Indra Kumar’s Grand Masti.

"It’s going to be a very clean comic film, which will have three heroes and two heroines. There won’t be any double meaning or cheap thrills," says Gupta, adding that the film will go on the floors around September-October this year.

"Now, I am looking at expanding my wings as a producer, so the idea is to make all kinds of films, including comedy, and not be stuck with just one genre," says Gupta.
