After director Sanjay Gupta claimed he hadn’t approached Asin for his next venture Shootout At Wadala, Asin hits back defending herself.

Speaking from Jaipur, where she is shooting a song sequence for Bol Bachchan, Asin explains, “I was approached by Swati Shetty of Balaji Motion Pictures, and it is rather weird that he (Sanjay) wasn’t informed about it. I don’t understand why he should lie or be in denial.”

She goes on to add, “Awati and I spoke many times regarding the project.” Asin claims that Gupta’s statement, where he claimed that he had only Vidya Balan, and later, Kangana Ranaut in mind as the leading lady opposite John Abraham in his sequel to Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007), reeked of a publicity stunt.

“I’m least bothered about his statements. I have proof to prove my claim. It is a fact that Swati approached me, and Sanjay should get his facts right before talking about it,” she adds. Meanwhile, Asin is excited to be working with 3 Idiots (2009) director Raj Kumar Hirani on an ad film for a cola brand. She says, “He’s a wonderful director, calm, collected and down to earth.” She will be seen donning three new styles for the three new flavours of Mirinda. “The three styles were designed by Mr Hirani, and I’m always game to try out new looks,” she reveals.
