Actor Sanjay Dutt’s niece, Nazia Hussain, was in the news recently for making her debut in a Bollywood film titled, Say Yes To Love. Even before her debut film hits the silver screens, it’s come to light that Nazia has signed her second project. This time around, she’s playing the lead opposite veteran producer/director Shakti Samanta’s grandson, Aditya Samanta. The film Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai is helmed by first-time director, Shri Narayan Singh.
"After completing my first film, I got to know that Ashim Samanta was doing a film. I went to him and did two screen tests. I felt blessed after I received a call few days later for the lead role. I know talent is important, but fate is also important," says Nazia, who’s the grand daughter of Akhtar Hussain, Nargis's elder brother. The major part of the shooting for the film has been done in Jaipur and Poland.
"My grandfather was a producer. It’s more of the Hussain factor that has made me an actor," says Nazia. "During my teenage years, I was really confused and wanted to go abroad to work at an animal shelter. I even worked for a travel company when I was 14 or 15 years old. Then, I wanted to get into aviation cabin crew. Finally, it was my dad who told me to give acting a shot. Mom was against it because of the hard work involved," adds Nazia, who has been trained at the Roshan Taneja acting school.
Though Nazia comes from a film family, she prefers not to use her background to her advantage. Says she, "After finishing from acting school, I used to go for various auditions and dance rehearsals. Since I stay at Marine Drive, I’d always travel by the Virar fast. In fact, during the making of my first film, the crew got to know who I was only after shooting had started."
