The adorable bad boy of the small screen, Shabir Ahluwalia is back to what he does best — acting. The actor, who was last seen on TV two years ago, moved behind the camera to produce tele shows. He also co-produced the remake of the 1973 hit,

, with Priyanka Chopra and Ram Charan in the lead.

Talking about the film, Shabir says he doesn’t regret investing in the project that eventually bombed at the box office.

"Ram did a fabulous job and we, too, gave our best. So there’s nothing to regret... every film has its own fate," says Shabir, who has taken the losses in his stride, and now wants to concentrate on his upcoming projects.

The 34-year-old, who rose to fame with Ekta Kapoor’s tele dramas including Kahiin To Hoga and Kayamath, is making his comeback with yet another Ekta Kapoor saga, Kumkum Bhagya, that’s loosely based on Jane Austen’s famous novel, Sense and Sensibility. In the show, Shabir will play a rockstar. So, will the audience get to see the ‘bad boy’

"Well ya, there will be a grey zone for sure. I have always loved playing edgy characters, but I was instantly bowled over by this particular one,” says the actor, who was reported to have developed cold vibes with Ekta after he started his own production house. He, however, denies it, saying, "Ekta is like family. In fact, she guided me a lot because she’s the best in the trade,” says the would-be-dad, who’s married to actor Kanchi Kaul.

Ask him if the audience will ever get to see him and Kanchi together on screen, and he laughs, “We’re so busy playing real-life couple that there’s no time to play reel-life couple!"
