“Shah Rukh Khan and I have had our share of highs and lows,” says Bollywood actor Juhi Chawla, while talking about her equation with the superstar.

Juhi Chawla has been part of several hit films over the years. But, of late, the actor has been busy with her business ventures. She co-owns a T20 cricket team with Shah Rukh Khan, who has been her co-star in many hit films like Darr (1993), Yes Boss (1997) and Duplicate (1998). Ask her if running a business with a close friend ever gets tricky, and she says, “It used to be different when Shah Rukh and I were working together in films. We used to talk about all our releases (back then). But now, it’s all about the sport. And since we aren’t playing it ourselves, we can’t pinpoint or tell each other that you didn’t run or bat well.”

Juhi says “it’s nice” to have SRK as a partner. “If the team is not doing well, Shah Rukh and I can turn to each other for a shoulder. It would have been difficult if I was in this on my own,” she says.

Interestingly, Juhi and SRK have been business partners through the years. They first started a production company several years ago, before buying a cricket team together. However, their friendship has had a fair bit of drama. “We have fought and cried. But I think, over time, one falls, learns, grows, and moves on. Shah Rukh and I have had our share of highs and lows ,” she says.

Bollywood actors Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Preity Zinta also co-own cricket teams that are part of an ongoing T20 tournament. Juhi says that whenever her team is playing against theirs, the game is always more interesting. “It’s just a coincidence that we all became franchise owners. It’s great when my team is playing against Preity’s or Shilpa’s. It’s a little more special than other matches, for the audience and the owners,” says Juhi.
