If Bollywood actors get hurt on the sets or fall ill while shooting, it isn’t just their health that is impacted.

Schedules go for a toss and films get delayed. "If something happens to the lead actor, you obviously can’t continue the shoot. But more than the delay, we are worried about the person," says director Farah Khan. Here’s how injuries to the leading men have impacted film schedules.

Hrithik Roshan
Injury: Head injury
Date delay: Six months

Hrithik's existing head injury got aggravated while shooting for Siddharth Anand’s Bang Bang in July. The schedule only resumed last month. This delay also affected the shoot of Shuddhi. Hrithik says, “It’s going to be pushed forward by the amount of time that my recuperation has taken. But that doesn’t mean anything negative. It only means that we are going to get more time to prepare."

Salman Khan
Injury: Trigeminal neuralgia (a nerve disorder)
Dates delay: Indefinite
Salman underwent surgery for trigeminal neuralgia in September 2011. The actor had to again head to the US in March 2013 for a check-up. He then started shooting for Jai Ho and Kick.
In the meantime, No Entry Mein Entry has been delayed and is yet to go on the floors. In April 2013, Boney Kapoor, in an interview to a film website, said, "It may be pushed forward by some weeks. Once Salman's health and his other issues are sorted, he will be far more relaxed."

Ranveer Singh
Injury: Hurt his back, was down with dengue
Date delay: Multiple times Ranveer was hospitalised after being diagnosed with dengue. This delayed the dubbing and music release of Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela (2013). Later, Kill Dil’s schedule was postponed. The actor also hurt his back while filming for Lootera (2013) and it pushed the film’s schedule.
Ranveer says, “I had a serious injury during Lootera, which put me out of action for three months. Other than that, there have just been a few cuts and bruises."

Arjun Kapoor
Injury: Prolapsed cervical disc
Date delay: 15 days
The actor was in pain while filming Gunday. Later the neck pain became unbearable, thus delaying the schedule of his father Boney Kapoor’s film, Tevar. Arjun says, “I asked dad if the shoot can be pushed by 15 days and he understood. He gave me time to recover and feel 100 per cent normal before starting the shoot."

Shah Rukh Khan

The actor wrote on Twitter, “Have a few tests to do & Insha Allah all will be good.Few scars maybe. Will show them off cos as they say there r no scars for happiness (sic)."
