The hype around Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush's forthcoming film Shamitabh seems to be peaking just in time for its February 6 release. The film's second trailer, released by Big B himself on Tuesday evening, reveals just as much to raise the suspense around the plot of R Balki's latest directorial venture.
Earlier reports suggested that Dhanush plays a deaf and dumb character in Shamitabh, which also marks the Bollywood debut of Kamal Haasan's second daughter Akshara. Now we know that Bachchan is the voice behind the famous movie star Dhanush's playing. And it is a clear ego fight between the face and the voice. Sample a dialogue from the trailer: "Aap media ke log to awaz aur chehre ke beech bhi nafrat paida kar sakte hain!"
At one point, Akshara tells Amitabh, "Aapki awaz iske muh se acchi lagti hai na?", and Amitabh retorts: "Ye awaz ek kutte ke muh se bhi acchi lagegi!"
When Amitabh Bachchan's first look from the film was unveiled recently, the grungy look with scruffy beard and dark kohl eyes reminded us of his 'angry young' days. The second trailer establishes it beyond any doubt. He has constant, recurring differences with Dhanush's character. Amitabh even askss Dhanush in the trailer, "Mere bina tu kya hai?"
