Be it the sari or the mini skirt, B-town’s actors, at some point in their career, have donned the female garb with layers of girly makeup for their onscreen avatars.

Actor Emraan Hashmi is the latest to join the Bollywood’s female heroes brigade. Hashmi donned a blonde look for his upcoming film Crook. “Getting dressed up as a girl was really very funny,” said the actor. It was an impromptu shoot and although Hashmi was initially hesitant, he later enjoyed it.

In the past, Amitabh Bachchan in Laawaris, Rishi Kapoor in Rafoo Chakkar, Salman Khan in Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Govinda in Aunty No. 1 and Aamir Khan in Baazi have dressed like females. Aamir, after donning the look thrice, seems to have become a pro. “After Baazi and Manno Bhabhi, I am used to it,” said the actor in an earlier interview to HT City.

Shahid Kapoor’s ‘cute girl’ look in a short denim skirt and pink top in Milenge Milenge was much talked about. “Shahid was a sport as. He amicably agreed to dress up as a girl," says director of the film, Satish Kaushik. Filmmaker Rohit Shetty too, in his movie in Golmaal Returns, had the boy gang of Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kappor dress up like girls for a scene. “It was one of the best scenes… as everyone was quite sportive, especially Ajay.”

Riteish Deshmukh, as the sexy bombshell in Apna Sapna Money Money, was not just wooed co-star Anupam Kher in the movie, but also liked by many. Deshmukh was quoted as saying, “The first walk from the van to the sets was the longest walk of my life.”
