, who died after she was found in a Mumbai flat with her throat slit in an apparent suicide bid, was being harassed by her cosmetic surgeon, according to a media report on Tuesday.
Joshi, who was last seen in Ajay Bahl's film BA Pass, had got breast implants by Dr Vijay Sharma in 2006.
Joshi’s friend Madhubharti Pathan told police that Sharma and some other people were troubling the actor, The Indian Express reported. Joshi’s allegations were recorded on Pathan’s mobile phone.
Police said they needed to verify the authenticity of the recording.
Pathan also told police that Joshi told her that "the cosmetic surgeon and a few married men had been troubling her".
Sharma told the newspaper that he would not comment as the matter is sub judice. "She was afraid of being convicted in court and so she has done this. This is a blackmailing racket and the truth will eventually prevail," he said.
In October 2013, Joshi and her brother were arrested for pelting stones at the home of the cosmetic surgeon in suburban Andheri.
The 40-year-old actor had also filed a case of molestation against Sharma in 2011 following which the doctor was arrested.
She had told police at the time that when she found a lump in her breast five years after the implant, she approached Sharma for a check-up. He then allegedly touched her inappropriately.
