Everything may be going smoothly for his upcoming production Tees Maar Khan, directed by wife Farah Khan, but Shirish Kunder is still stuck at the casting stage of Joker. This despite having announced the film almost a year ago.
At first, Shah Rukh Khan was supposed to be the lead in Joker, but he dropped out and Akshay Kumar was subsequently finalised. There are two actresses in the movie opposite Kumar but Kunder seems to be having a tough time casting them.
So now, the director of Jaan-E-Mann has resorted to the one option every filmmaker seems to be going for these days - Twitter. On Friday evening, Kunder asked his 2,900 followers on Twitter to help him with the casting. His tweet read: ‘Which heroine would you like to see opposite Akshay Kumar in Joker?’
So far, Kunder hasn’t responded to anyone’s suggestion, so it is not known what the popular choice was. But it seems that the director may have ruled out the Akshay-Katrina Kaif casting since that’s the lead pair of Tees Maar Khan as well.
It remains to be seen whether he goes in for public opinion, opts for Kaif again, or casts an unknown face.
