Actor Nargis Fakhri and her Madras Cafe director Shoojit Sircar had quite a fun verbal tussle going on throughout the making of the film. It all started on her first day of shooting in Kochi, when she discovered that quite a bit of her scenes that day had changed. “The scene was with John Abraham, and Nargis realised that everything she had prepared for the day had gone into complete waste,” says a source close to the film.

“Nargis soon discovered that Shoojit would make these changes for almost every scene and whatever was there on the pages of the script got tweaked into something else.

‘Improvisation’ is what Shoojit called it, while Nargis was very clear that it was a ‘change’,” says the source, adding: “Nargis thought if they are going to change, she might as well not prepare for the scenes. And, she and Shoojit would have these fun fights on the sets all the time.”
