, who is currently directing a film with actor John Abraham, says that his next will focus on medical malpractices. "We are working on a script about the malpractices that take place within the medical fraternity... on how people deal with it, how ­medicines are prescribed and so on," says Sircar.
The film-maker says he wants to do a lot of groundwork before he starts working on the film. "One of the teams in my production house is doing the research. I am also consulting film-makers who are also working on similar subjects. It’s in the developmental stages, so let’s see if I’d direct it or not."
Sircar, whose last film, Madras Café (2013), received a thumbs up from the audience and critics alike, says that it is important for people to raise their voices against such malpractices. "Someone should take an initiative and do something about (the carelessless of) doctors and hospitals. For ­example, when a doctor is writing a prescription, half of the times, things are not explained and no one knows what exactly is the doctor treating," he says.
says that as a filmmaker, he tries to incorporate social issues in his films. "Child abuse, women’s ­safety... there are many areas where work needs to be done (sic)," he adds.
