Not many know that Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor is also an avid football fan. Veteran star Shakti Kapoor’s young daughter, who made headlines for her performance in Mohit Suri’s hit romantic film, Aashiqui 2, earlier this year, had a keen interest in sports when she was in school. And now, at an upcoming football tournament that will take place in the city, she will get a chance to revisit those days.

Shraddha has been invited to be the celebrity chief guest at the under-18 matches of the Mumbai Football Club. “She is excited about being associated with the game again,” says a source close to the actor.

When contacted, Shraddha confirms the news, saying, “It will be fun to go back to the field again as I used to play state level handball in Mumbai and I have also played football at the school-level while I was studying abroad.”

Although she is currently busy shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming film Haider, in which she will be seen opposite Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha has managed to move her schedule around to make time for the sporting event that takes place towards the end of this month. The actor will also soon start working on Mohit’s The Villain with Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh.
