Shruti Haasan has been busy working across the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu film industries. In fact, recently, she was also in talks with film-maker Milan Luthria for his next with Ajay Devgn. However, now it seems that the actor has opted out of the project.

An insider says, “Shruti and Milan had a few meetings, and she seemed happy with the film’s story and her role. Hence, she agreed to it verbally. But she also requested to see a final script before signing on the dotted line. Working with Ajay was also something that made her consider the film strongly.”

However, the insider adds that once the final draft of the script was shared with the actor, her character didn’t seem on the lines of what had been narrated to her initially. Apparently, it didn’t quite add to the story in a big way. “Shruti felt that the character is not cut out for her. So, she decided to give the project a miss, even though she was looking forward to working with Milan,” says the insider.

In addition to that, the shooting schedule of the film had also been pushed forward by a few months, which would have coincided with the shoot of two of Shruti’s other projects.

We tried contacting Shruti, but till the time of going to press, she remained unavailable for a comment.
