She may be one of the most acclaimed actors of Bollywood and a top notch producer’s wife, but Vidya Balan says that inspite of their stardom, the couple manages to lead a very normal life.
“Siddharth (Roy Kapur) is a very rooted person so I have continued to lead a very normal life even after I got married. We go to theatres, watch films and we do all regular things. We go to restaurants... not those fancy ones, we go to regular places,” says the 36-year-old known for her stellar act in films including Paa (2009), The Dirty Picture (2011) and Kahaani (2012).
Curious we prod, how she manages not getting mobbed when hanging out at “regular places”, and her humorous side speaks out. “I am really not like Salman Khan that I get mobbed like crazy when I am outside the house so I am able to lead quite a normal life, honestly. I enjoy stardom and the love and attention I get from people. Yet like I said, it’s not like I have people standing in front of my house at the middle of the night wanting to take my pictures,” she says laughing, as she adds that she never has a problem when people walk up to her asking for a picture, barring selfies, of course.
“I have a problem with selfies. People come too close for a selfie. I don’t mind a picture but selfie... no!” she says, adding, “Also there are times when you are eating and you want to be with your loved one, so I politely tell them, ‘not now, after I finish dinner.’”
