Ekta Kapoor is a worried producer today. Reason: the loss of six hours worth of footage of her forthcoming film Ragini MMS. All this happened while the video was being readied for post-production. And if that wasn’t enough, the edit system also crashed, causing the team to panic as the back up data got corrupted as well. Fortunately, because the film was shot using a multiple camera set up, the makers will be able to recover some footage.
“Thankfully, we shot using 24 cameras,” says Kapoor, adding that she found the situation quite uncanny, and even conducted a ‘vasthu puja’ after the first spell of the film. But she denies the influence of any blind belief. “I think I’m a little more knowledgeable. Somewhere, we all know and understand vibes and energies, but that’s just it,” says Kapoor, who believes that any negativity can be overcome by a positive attitude.
However, nothing untoward has occurred after the ceremony was organised. “We lost the footage before that,” says Kapoor, adding that she believes in logical remedies to problems like recovering some footage from the other camera. “I don’t want to get caught in the fear of what may happen.”
Nonetheless, Ekta is optimistic about bringing Ragini MMS to cinemas on the midnight of Friday the 13th next month. “All other footage is secure and sorted. Everything is on track and the film will release as per schedule,” she says.
