Actor Soha Ali Khan, who plays a journalist in her upcoming movie, War Chhod Na Yaar, says that she discovered the impact of media thanks to this role.
"Even though I have been interacting with the media for the last few years as an actor, but playing the role of Rut Dutta, a journalist who goes to cover war between India and Pakistan, I discovered the importance of media in sending the right message to the people,” she says.
An AOPL Entertainment Pvt. Ltd production and directed by Faraz Haider, the film is touted as India’s first war comedy that gives out a message of the futility of war in a funny manner. “People usually consider war to be a serious andtragic topic. But this movie is a satire where we give an intelligent message in a funny manner. It shows the close bond between the soldiers posted on the border,” says Khan.
The war comedy is expected to release in theatres across the country on October 11.
The actor also says that the most challenging part was to shoot in extreme temperatures on the sets created in Rajasthan. “We were staying in a village which was two hours away from the shoot location in Bikaner.
While half of the movie was shot at around 50 degree Celsius in the day, the other half was shot when it was extremely cold at night,” says the 34-year-old actor.
