Soha Ali Khan is all set to break free from her demure image. In Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 2, the actor will be seen in a steamy role opposite not one, but two heroes — Irrfan Khan and Jimmy Sheirgill. Confirms producer Rahul Mitra, “Soha is playing royalty, who is romantically involved with one guy, but subsequently falls for another.”

As the real royalty plays one on the reel, Soha’s character will be seen sporting designer clothes, attending polo matches and living the grand life. Shot in Baria, Gujarat the film also stars Mahie Gill and will see Raj Babbar as Soha’s screen father.

So does the double whammy mean Soha will have sensual scenes with both her lovers? “She falls in love with Irrfan’s character and then something goes wrong and Saheb (Jimmy Sheirgill) comes in her life. Tigmanshu doesn’t believe in in-your-face sex scenes. Soha romances both of them, but the scenes are very aesthetically shot. They are more romantic than sexual,” says Rahul.

With Soha’s modest reputation, ask the producer if it was difficult convincing her to do the intimate scene, given that she has refused many on previous occasions, and he says, “Soha had seen Tigmanshu’s first film and she knew what the story was like. She never voiced any discomfort with any scenes as they were shot aesthetically. She is essaying an innocent person who becomes scheming and plays bedroom politics because of the situation she’s caught in.”

About the sequel, Tigmanshu adds, “It is a mature love story. I don’t need to use sex to sell my films. Besides a few lip-locks, we don’t show obvious nudity. I use cinematic techniques to suggest sensuality and chemistry between co-actors.”
