Actor Amit Sadh often finds himself answering questions about not being able to bag projects as his Kai Po Che (2013) co-stars Rajkummar and Sushant Singh Rajput have. He has an apt reply for such questions.
“It’s not that I took time to say yes to projects, the truth is that I was not offered any. I can lie to you and say that I had many offers and no time but I won’t do that. All I can say is that before Kai Po Che, nobody knew me and then after the film, people know me now. It put me back on the block. I think, I didn’t get work for 2-3 months and I am okay with it. I have some great films coming up. By the end of the year people will stop asking me this question,” says the actor, who became popular after playing the role of Omi Shastri in the film adaptation of author Chetan Bhagat’s book,The Three Mistakes of My Life.
The actor, who made his film debut with Phoonk 2 (2010), went on to work in films such as Guddu Rangeela (2015), Sultan (2016) and Akira (2016). Sadh believes that Bollywood takes a while to understand an actor’s talent.
“This is not an office. I don’t do projects; I do films and play characters that challenge me. I have done great films in my career so far. For me the real high is to be an actor. Sometimes, the industry takes time to warm up to you and understand what roles it can offer you,” he says.
While, he has been part of many multiple star cast or two hero films, Sadh, does not look at his projects with the sense of a lead role or not.
“I don’t see them as lead roles; I look at them as parts. I had a great part in all my films. I am unequipped to understand all that and all I know is that a film works because of a team and not just one actor,” he says.
