Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh, the lead actors of Lootera, are promoting their upcoming film in a rather unique way. They’ll be seen on the cover of various Mills & Boon (M&B) books this month.
Since it is a romantic period film set in the ’50s, there will be a special Lootera edition with three books.
A source says, “The books will be launched by the end of this week across 5,000 outlets in India.” In addition, the film’s team has added a bookmark, a vintage notepad and a pencil for readers to keep as souvenirs.
“Lootera is the story of intense love and its various repercussions including happiness, pain and suffering. As the series is known for its romantic content, the marketing team felt it made for a good idea to reach out to a wider audience,” says director Vikramaditya Motwane.
“A note written by Sonakshi, along with the film stills, will be inserted in 25 titles of M&B novels in the month of July,” adds the source, “It will reflect the love between the characters in the film, keeping in mind the title of each novel. Ranveer and Sonakshi will also do a small book reading session at the launch of the books. The publishers are also running a contest — Steal A Date — with the actors to promote the film and the special-edition pack.”
