For her item song in the upcoming movie, Oh My God, Sonakshi Sinha has got more involved than usual. For her number ‘Go go Govinda…’ in the film that also stars Akshay Kumar, she has gone ahead and designed her own costume.

However, the appointed designer, Ashely Rebello (he often designs for Salman Khan), had already designed a costume for the song. And as the song can have Sonakshi wearing only one costume throughout, the producers were confused which design to go with.

To solve the dilemma, they have now turned to Twitter and Facebook. They are conducting an opinion poll for the two designs, and the one that gets the maximum votes and the best responses over the next few days, will be used for the shoot. Prabhudheva will choreograph the song.

Ashwini Yardi, who is the co-producer of the film, says, “It’s brave of Sonakshi to let the public decide what she should wear for the item number. She was so excited about the song that she decided to sketch a design on her own. She’s done an impressive job. Few would know that she’s a former design school student. It shows in her sketch.”

Sonakshi has even designed the accessories she’d like to team with the costume, which is a mix of Indian and Western ideas.

“She’s usually worn Indian outfits in her movies so far, so this time, we thought she should have a fusion of Indian and Western. Even Ashley’s design follows that pattern,” says Ashwini, adding, “Both the costumes are ready. Once we close the polls in the next few days, we’ll know which one to go with. So far, the response has found equal support among fans.”
