Sonakshi won’t follow dad, says no to politics

No, I will not join politics. I mean... just because my father is into it, I don’t feel the need to venture into that field," said the 26-year-old Dabangg girl who visited HT City on Tuesday, and had a candid chat tempered with laughter and fun moments.

Her dad, Shatrughan Sinha, is a seasoned politician, and has won the recent Lok Sabha polls, too, but actor Sonakshi Sinha doesn’t find it reason enough to follow his footsteps. "No, I will not join politics. Indeed, Sona is quite a sport, even when it comes to facing tricky questions. So when asked about her linkup rumours, earlier with actor Ranveer Singh and more recently with her R... Rajkumar co-star Shahid Kapoor, she simply giggled and inquisitively asked, "Really? There are such rumours?"

"I don’t understand Tamil but having worked with him (Prabhu) in a few films now, I have mastered that basic tone," she said. So, when asked how she was finding Delhi, in a typical South Indian accent, she said, "Verrrry hot! Superrr hot!"

And finally, she suprised us with her fitness mantra. "I took a bit of boxing training for my upcoming film, and I found it so useful that I’ve taken it up as a workout now... so I’ve hired a trainer and practice everyday for 2-2.5 hours."
