Dabangg 2 is all set to hit the floors next year, and Sonu Sood is preparing to return as the villain, Chhedi Singh’s brother, once again drawing inspiration from his southern hits. “For Dabangg, I brought in a lot of intricacies from my character in Puri Jagannath’s Telugu film Ek Niranjan (2009). And for Dabangg 2, I also plan to get inspiration from my role in the upcoming Telugu film, Dookudu,” says Sonu.
The actor believes such detailing and characteristics are loved by all kind of fans. “I have lived with a lot of Bihari guys during my engineering days, so I plan to utilise those experiences too in the film,” he adds.
With the hit film’s sequel likely to hit the floors around February-March next year, producer Arbaaz Khan will take over the directorial reigns from Abhinav Kashyap.
“In fact, Arbaaz narrated a few scenes of Dabangg 2 to me at IIFA. It has turned out fantastic. In the film, I play Chhedi Singh’s brother, who is out to get revenge for his brother’s death from Chulbul,” he informs.
The actor, meanwhile, has already started working on the role. “I am going to bring in the mannerisms and characteristics from Chhedi, but my character will be more raw and dangerous with, of course, a humourous undertone.”
Excited with the response to Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap, Sonu confirms that a sequel for the film is also on the cards. Next, he’ll be seen in Maxim with Naseeruddin Shah and Rajinikanth’s Rana, about which he enthuses, “I am excited after looking at the sets and the storyboard. Rajni sir is personally looking into the progress.”
