It’s the holiday season for Bollywood stars. Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar are already on vacations abroad with their respective families. Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan are also set to go on summer breaks. But as much as they might want to, it seems work won’t let them switch off completely even during a break. Whether it’s a film’s promotional events or last-minute post-production work, all these actors are cutting their breaks short, or working from holiday destinations.
Last night (June 17), Hrithik, wife Sussanne and kids Hrehaan and Hridhaan took off for a US holiday. The actor, whose superhero flick, Krrish 3 releases this year, has decided to make this a quick trip. A source close to him says, “He usually goes for close to a month, but this year, he has a lot of work. He has to return soon to begin post-production work on Krrish 3, after which the team will begin promotions. In between all of this, there’s also work to do on his other project with Katrina Kaif, Bang Bang.”
Ajay, his wife Kajol, and their kids Nysa and Yug, are holidaying in London. Apparently, they are spending over a month at a serviced apartment in Central London. However, the actor will take out two days to promote his next, Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha, in the UK capital. “On June 26, he will participate in an online-marketing campaign, while telephonic and print interviews have been slotted for the next day. Although he would have loved to not be disturbed during his break, Ajay is honouring his professional commitments,” says an insider close to him.
Despite repeated attempts, Ajay couldn’t be reached for a comment.
Akshay is currently on his annual, month-long holiday with wife Twinkle, kids Aarav and Nitara. However, he travelled all the way from New York to Birmingham (UK) to promote his next film, Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai Again, during the India-Pakistan Champions Trophy match on June 15. In New York, he also did some interviews. In Milan Luthria’s film, he plays Shoaib, a cricket-loving gangster (apparently based on Dawood Ibrahim) who also wields match-fixing powers.
Every year, Farhan takes a holiday with wife Adhuna Akhtar and daughters Shakya and Akira. Usually, his holiday lasts for two weeks, but this time, Farhan cut it short. A source close to the actor says, “This year, Farhan and his family went to Europe, but it was just for a week. Since Farhan’s production Fukrey was to release, he wanted to be here to help promote the film. Moreover, his next, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, will release soon, and Farhan had to start the on-ground promotions for it. So, he felt the need to return sooner.”
