Director Gautham Menon has short-listed Bollywood rivals Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan to reprise Kamal Hassan's role in the Hindi remake of Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, reported Mid Day.
The crime-thriller is a superhit Tamil flick where Kamal Hassan played a cop.
The filmmaker is working out on dates with both the stars. "We are showing the film around and we hope it gets picked up. As far as SRK and Salman go, all I can say is that it is a wish list. It would be great if either come on board, because it's a film for the masses," Menon told the tabloid.
Salman is more likely to win the race as he has successfully pulled off cop avatar twice in Tamil film Pokhri's Bollywood remake Wanted and 2010's biggest hit Dabangg.
Menon ventured into Hindi cinema with Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein. He is all set for his next release Ekk Deewana Tha, remake of his own film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa.
His another popular film Khaka Khaka has also been remade into Force by Nishikanth Kamath.
