Life seems to be taking a positive turn for actor Shiney Ahuja. Soon after reports of director-friend Anurag Basu wanting the actor to do a cameo in the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Barfee, now Sudhir Mishra has confirmed that he will make the thriller film Hitman, with his protégé. Says Mishra, “I’m making a film with Shiney. It will be about a day in the life of a hitman. I can’t say any more than this as its still in a nascent stage.”
Ahuja made his Bollywood debut with Mishra’s Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi in 2005, after which he worked with the director on Khoya Khoya Chand (2007) alongside Soha Ali Khan. Earlier this year, Mishra had expressed a desire to make a film with Ahuja, but plans failed to materialise as the filmmaker was busy working on Yeh Saali Zindagi and Tera Kya Hoga Johnny.Though the script for Hitman has been finalised, Mishra will only start shooting that after finishing three other films. He says, "I have been in touch with Shiney ever since the verdict came out. And we have met a couple of times in Mumbai and Delhi."
Adds Ahuja, “Sudhir keeps in touch and was even upset with Anupam (wife) that she was taking so long to get me out.” The actor had recently intimated that he and Mishra are “hoping to find a producer for Hitman”. Bharat Shah’s Ghost, which hits screens on December 12, will be Ahuja’s first release since his conviction in 2009.
“I’m confident that once my other films start coming out, it won’t be that difficult to find a producer for Hitman, and release Pritish Nandy’s Ek Accident and Jahnu Barua’s Har Pall.”
