He returned from Budapest (Hungary) last week, after shooting some major portions of his new film Raabta co-starring Kriti Sanon. Now, HT Café has learnt that Sushant Singh Rajput has left for Bangkok (Thailand) to train in the martial arts. He has travelled to the city “on an urgent basis” to pick up “combat skills” for an action sequence in the movie.
“The martial-arts training is for the movie’s last schedule, filming for which will start next month. It is a grand sequence, in which Sushant is supposed to look muscular and show great combat skills. He knew it was important to train for these scenes,” says an insider.
Sushant and his team initially tried to find a martial arts trainer in Mumbai. But when they couldn’t find one, the Kai Po Che! (2013) star decided to make the trip despite being busy with other films. Sushant is also readying to start the promotional work for his next — a MS Dhoni biopic.
The insider adds, “The actor will follow a different diet and workout routine there to achieve the desired results. Besides hand-to-hand combat, Sushant is also learning weapon combat skills.”
When contacted, Sushant, who reached Bangkok, says, “The training is for a special sequence in the film. Dinoo (Dinesh) is sure about what he wants me to do. It is going be a [series of] intense training [sessions] for [the next] few weeks. I hope I pull it off. I’m excited about it.”
