Sushant Singh Rajput couldn't have asked for a better launch pad in Bollywood. The former TV actor shot to fame after debuting in Kai Po Che and now has several big projects such as Rajkumar Hirani's P.K. and Yash Raj Films' Shuddh Desi Romance in his kitty.
But of late, industry veterans are apparently unhappy with the actor's behaviour. A trade source reveals that some noted producers and directors, who want to discuss work with him, are having a tough time trying to get in touch with him. “Sushant’s phone is mostly switched off or out of reach, so it has become almost impossible for people to contact him,” says the source.
The insider adds that if a caller leaves a message with his publicist or manager, the actor reverts only after a few days. “His responses are never prompt,” say the source.
We tried contacting Sushant through phone and SMS, but, as predicted, he did not respond. When his publicists were contacted, they blamed his behaviour on his busy schedule. “Sushant does not attend calls while on shoot as he doesn’t like to be distracted from his work,” says the publicist.
His spokesperson, however, insists that the actor diligently responds to all communication. “The good thing about him is that whenever he finishes work, he returns all the missed calls by calling back or SMS,” says the spokesperson.
Apart from the films he is shooting for currently, the actor has also been roped in for director Abhishek Kapoor's next, which is an adaptation of Charles Dicken's classic, Great Expectations.
