It cannot get any more intriguing than this. Deepika Padukone revealed the first poster of Tamasha, her forthcoming film with Ranbir Kapoor, on Saturday, and tongues have already started wagging at the sizzling on-screen chemistry between the two stars.
Shot in Corsica and multiple locations in Delhi (Vasant Kunj, Hauz Khas village and Cyber Hub in Gurgaon), Tamasha’s poster shows the bubbly couple in a romantic pose. But what is intriguing is the backdrop of the poster: It has Ravana with his 10 heads, a face that resembles Hanuman, and another one that looks like Shiva. There’s more. We see a joker and a jinn, two lovers and another woman in yogi attire.
The poster’s tag line makes it even more interesting: “Why always the same story?”, it says.
It will be interesting to see if director Imtiaz Ali will explore the psychology behind our folk stories or if he plans to give a twist to the way narratives are dealt with on the screen.
After their 2013 hit Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ranbir and Deepika are coming together in Tamasha. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Tamasha also marks Ranbir and Imtiaz coming together four years after they delivered the intense Rockstar. With this film, Imtiaz is also back with his favourite lyricist-writer Irshad Kamil.
Tamasha releases on 27 November 2015.
