For actor Tannishtha Chatterjee, who is known for her roles in offbeat Indian and foreign projects, would also consider working in Bollywood.
At the Lonavla International Film Festival India (LIFFI), where two of her films -- Rough Book and the recently released UnIndian are being screened -- Tannishtha spoke about her projects and plans in a question and answer session.
When asked why she has not done a typical Bollywood film yet, she said “It’s just that when I started, I got work and I kept doing that work. Perhaps, I also didn’t go and ask people for work. A lot of times I was travelling or didn’t have dates... But it’s not like Bollywood will not happen.”
“It might happen with roles that I can do justice to as an actor and with roles that do justice to my acting.”
Having worked in films like Brick Lane, Road, Movie, Dekhi Indian Circus, Anna Karenina, Gulab Gang, Angry Indian Goddesses and more, she says she has seen exciting times in her career with different roles in movies of varied genres.
“I’ve worked in British, French, American films, Hindi films and Marathi too...Now I also have a biopic in hand. So, it’s great,” said the acclaimed actor, who’s upcoming film is a biopic on the first woman doctor in the country, Dr Rakhmabai.
After UnIndian and Island City, Tannishtha will be next seen in Parched, co-starring Radhika Apte.
