Team Zilla Ghaziabad was asked for bribe to shoot

It is sad that things are made difficult for us in our own country whereas countries abroad welcome Bollywood units, says Minissha Lamba. The team of Zilla Ghaziabad, which was being filmed in Delhi earlier this week, had to literally bribe the Qutub Minar authorities to shoot inside the monument area.

The team of Zilla Ghaziabad, which was being filmed in Delhi earlier this week, had to literally bribe the Qutub Minar authorities to shoot inside the monument area on Tuesday. Actor Arshad Warsi, who was filming a romantic song with actor Minissha Lamba, tweeted, “Finished the song shoot. The Qutub Minar authorities made it as difficult for us as they could. Literally paid bribe for every shot.”

The film’s producer, Vinod Bachchan, says, “Paison ke bina to kaam karne hi nahi dete. The officer who was supposed to sign our papers, went out of station, because of which we wasted two days. Shooting was supposed to start on Saturday, but could commence only on Monday.” He says that even during the shoot, the officers kept interrupting, asking them “not to do something or the other”.

Actor Minissha Lamba adds, “It is sad that things are made so difficult for us in our own country whereas countries abroad welcome Bollywood units, giving them blanket permission to shoot anywhere, extending every facility and co-operation.”

However, BR Mani, ASI spokesperson, says the crew is at fault as they were party to the transaction. “Why did they pay bribe in the first place? If they have paid, they have done a very wrong thing. They should have complained.” Bachchan retorts, “There are a lot of problems anyway ... the actors’ dates and a crew of 300 that we brought ... we didn’t think of filing a complaint and don’t want to file one now, as the shooting is over.”

Shooting trauma at Qutub Minar

The team of Zilla Ghaziabad, which has been shooting in the Capital since a week, encountered trouble with the Qutub Minar authorities while shooting at the monument on Tuesday. Actor Arshad Warsi, who was shooting a romantic song with actor Minissha Lamba tweeted saying, “Finished the song shoot. The Qutub Minar authorities made it as difficult for us as they could. Literally paid bribe for every shot....” Producer Vinod Bachchan says, “Paison ke bina to kaam karne hi nahi dete. The officer who was supposed to sign our papers went out of station, because of which we wasted two days. Shooting was supposed to start on Saturday, but could commence only on Monday. Even during the shoot, the officers kept interrupting ,asking us not to do something or the other. It is the worst department,” he says.
