Actor Anupam Kher on Wednesday shared the first poster of his new film, The Accidental Prime Minster. It is based on the book, The Accidental Prime Minister: The Making and Unmaking of Manmohan Singh, a 2014 memoir written by Indian policy analyst Sanjaya Baru.

While we still have to wait and see what the film will finally turn out to be, there is no mistaking the fact that Anupam Kher in his new look with a turban, glasses and beard, looks strikingly similar to the former prime minister Manmohan Singh. The poster shows a side profile of Singh’s face, partially concealed by Congress Party president Sonia Gandhi’s shadow, standing in what looks like a corridor of a building in Lutyen’s Delhi.

Baru was Singh’s media advisor from May 2004 to August 2008. The book focuses on how Singh was completely ‘subservient’ to Sonia Gandhi, who had significant power during Singh’s time as prime minister.
