They are both known for their romantic films. And the latest buzz suggests that Shah Rukh Khan and director Imtiaz Ali might soon work together. "Yes, I met Shah Rukh recently. So maybe it (the rumours) was because of that. Also, once in a while, I keep meeting him because there’s a Delhi University-type vibe [between us]," says Imtiaz. The shooting for Imtiaz Ali's next Tamasha, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone is complete and Shah Rukh will be soon seen in Raees and Fan.

While the director studied at DU’s Hindu College, Shah Rukh passed out of Hansraj College. "Whenever we meet, we talk about stories and films. But nothing has been finalised yet. I guess, it (working together) is neither in his mind nor in my mind at the moment," adds Imtiaz.

SRK greets his fans.

Ask the director about the general perception in the industry, according to which if a director hasn’t worked with the Khans (Shah Rukh, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan), he or she hasn’t ‘arrived’, and he says, "I don’t believe in it. There are so many people who haven’t worked with the Khans." At the same time, Imtiaz admits that there’s a reason why "each one of them is so big."

He adds, "They are incredible, and awesome professionally and personally. But your story should suit them and things must work out for you to work with them. So, it’s nothing like ‘You have to work with them’ in order to be feel that you have ‘arrived’."
