True to his age old-tradition of announcing new films on his wedding anniversary, Subhash Ghai revealed his three new ventures for 2011 on October 24. On the 32nd anniversary of his production house Mukta Arts, the veteran filmmaker disclosed that he will helm one movie while Abbas-Mustan and Priyadarshan will be directing the other two.

It is learnt that the Abbas-Mustan, who have made Aitraaz and 36 China Town for Ghai, will direct another pacy thriller for him, titled Garjann. The Burmawalla brothers, who are currently on a recce for their remake of The Italian Job, said, “We have a nice, long association with Mukta and it’s always a pleasure directing for Subhashji. He’s a wonderful producer for any director and after Aitraaz and 36 China Town, we’re optimistic about our third venture together too.”

Priyadarshan, who is filming his next action thriller, Tez, in London, refused to disclose anything about his movie with Ghai. However, he was all praise for the showman, saying, "I have a few gurus from whom I’ve learnt making films, and Subhashji has been one of the most prominent among them. His films have served as my textbook of entertaining cinema. I consider it an honour to be chosen by him to make a movie." ghai

Making no efforts to hide his excitement at bagging the ‘watermark’ on his career, he further asserts, “Yes, it is a great responsibility to live up to the reputation of Mukta Arts and I believe I can do justice to the film.”

On his part, Ghai said he and his team are humbled to celebrate the success of his company. “I share this success with everyone from Mukta Arts along with my actors, friends and technicians. We are always proud of each other.”

The filmmaker, who is now scripting his next directorial venture, added that he will announce the cast and crew soon after he finishes the final draft. Expressing pride about Abbas-Mustan and Priyadarshan working passionately for Mukta Arts’ productions, Ghai enthused, “I’m sure that will keep our banner flying high in the future as well.”

In the interim, Mukta’s next production Paschim Express With Love will open in cinemas next February. The romcom has been directed by Sunny Bhambhani and stars Sahil Mehta, Mannat, Vikas Katyal and Priyam Galav, all of who have been trained at Ghai’s Whistling Woods International.
