Director Farah Khan likes everything in pulp-Bollywood style. After launching the music of her forthcoming film, Tees Maar Khan aboard a passenger train from CST to Lonavala, the choreographer-turned-director will have a live music show at Juhu Beach today.
Singers who’ve rendered the songs on the original soundtrack along with Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif will participate in the event. Kumar will be seen playing the role of a con man and Kaif, as a B-grade Bollywood actor.
However, music composer duo Vishal-Shekhar (Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani) will not be present for the show.
“It’s peak show season right now. We don’t have any dates free till December 16. And for this date, we were booked three months ago. So, we can’t cancel and be here. But all the singers who’ve worked on the album will be there to entertain the junta (public). Farah’s idea behind this show is to ensure that people have fun, and enjoy the music of her film,” says Dadlani.
The songs expected to be performed are Wallah re wallah and Sheila ki jawani among others. Playback singer Sonu Niigaam will perform the title track of the film, for which he has sung in more than 50 voices.
When asked if he’d manage the same for the ‘Live’ show, Dadlani says, “It’s humanly impossible to sing in 52 to 54 voices for one stage show. Nevertheless, Sonu will sing in as many voices as he can. He’s done a fabulous job of the title track anyway.”
Farah Khan’s third outing as a director is the Christmas release this year. When asked to comment on the music of her film, she says, “I’m happy it’s picking up. The promos have fetched positive responses. So, we’re hoping everything will be fine and we’ll have more than one reason to celebrate Christmas this year.”
