Arjun Rampal is playing a courageous cop in the film. Sporting a moustache, the actor appears to get into the skin of his character.
"I play the part of a police officer.. his name is SP Adil Khan, he is a third generation cop. His family has been in police. He is very righteous, good and super fit. But again the character through dilemma.. it is like a guy who wants to do his job but finds himself in a Chakravyuh," Arjun had told reporters.
Talking about the film, Arjun says: "I am happy that I am doing this film. Prakash Jha is one of my favourite directors. It is a beautiful script.. it deals with issues that are relevant today.. the whole Naxal movement happening in country. It is very relatable, strong and powerful subject. This issue is something people should know which will be dealt in the film."
Model-turned-actor Esha Gupta who was seen with Emraan Hashmi in Jannat 2 goes deglam for the film. She too plays the cop. The actress worked hard to shed her glamourous image. She has even done some action scenes including a helicopter stunt which was shot in Pachmarhi.
"I adore Prakash sir and there was no way I'd say no. But once I was in Bhopal, I felt like I was back in school with him as a strict principal. And what made me even more nervous was that my first scene was with Om Puri
, a National Award-winning actor," she had said.
"Fortunately, the shoot went off well, I think Prakash
is happy with my work. I was lucky I could flashback to those meetings with Kiran Bedi, watch and listen to her interviews online to make my character more real," she added.
"This is an extremely topical film as it's set against the backdrop of Naxalism, yet, it's a beautiful story about two friends," says Arjun.
While Abhay Deol plays the role of a young rebel, newcomer Anjali Patil plays a Naxalite leader. Manoj Bajpayee also essays the role of a Naxalite leader with guts of steel. Om Puri plays the role of a professor.
