Chidiya - Ud
Maina - Ud
Punjab - Can’t Ud
Jokes such as this are being used to troll Censor Board Chief Pahlaj Nihalani, on social media. This started soon after Nihalani spoke against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and in support of the 94 cuts that have been suggested by Central Board of Film Certification of India (CBFC) for the film Udta Punjab.
Earlier the industry and people in general were concerned about the fate of the film, which talks about the issue of drug-addiction in Punjab - the reason why the debate about it’s title and references to Punjab irked the CBFC. But after Nihalani’s comments, #UdtaPahlaj started trending.
From Bollywood celebrities such as filmmaker Shirish Kunder to stand-up comedians and aam janta, everyone has got a chance to take a shot at Nihalani. And some jokes are really funny…
