Actor Vidya Balan was in the capital to shoot for her next film Begum Jaan. She shot in Delhi’s Laxmi Narayan temple and was dressed in a white saree. It is because of her look that the people are speculating her to be Lord Krishna’s worshipper Meera.

However, the actor reportedly plays a brothel owner in the film. Directed by Srijit Mukerjee, the film’s shooting is complete and is scheduled to release in March next year. The film has also been shot in different parts of Bihar.

The otherwise quiet backyard of the temple was buzzing with activity as Balan got off the car, dressed in casual clothes, and walked with the crew. While the canteen men or the gardeners in the vicinity acknowledged that there was ‘something happening’, none was informed about the shoot. Even the temple priest did not know about the shoot until the crew made it obvious. “I don’t know anything about this. Functions hote rehte hai yahan,” the priest said.

After a while, the otherwise peaceful corridor in one of the wings of the temple was filled with cameras and wires. Amid tight security Vidya walked in a white saree with her hair left open. She had a tanpura in her hand and one could hear her play it.

Eventually, it started raining but it did not affect the shoot. Her look has been designed by Bollywood designer Rick Roy. The actor has finished the shooting of the film. Mukherjee later uploaded pictures with the actor from their hotel.
