After playing a super-hot role in The Dirty Picture (TDP; 2011), Vidya Balan is all set to essay the part of a simple housewife in her next film, Ghanchakkar. However, one of the sequences in the Raj Kumar Gupta-directed film is likely to see her in a sultry avatar again.
Apparently, Vidya will soon travel abroad to meet some makeup artistes for a special ‘look test’. “They want Vidya to be sultry and completely dissimilar from what she looked like in TDP,” says an insider.
Gupta confirms, “Yes, Vidya will go to the US or the UK, we haven’t decided the destination yet. As of now, I can only reveal that we are aiming for a different look for her. I can’t reveal anything else because we’re still working on things. The audiences will be surprised.”
Ask the No One Killed Jessica (2011) director if, like in TDP, Vidya will use prosthetics for his film too and he says: “No, she won’t. She won’t need to.” Gupta plans to shoot portions of the film using hidden cameras guerrilla-style in Mumbai. He will start shooting around August, during the monsoon. The makers want to shoot Vidya and co-star Emraan Hashmi, on the rain-soaked streets of the city. The director hopes to wrap up all the schedules by December and release the film in the first quarter of 2013.
