Actor Vidya Balan has turned down an offer to star in a biopic on yesteryear actor Suchitra Sen as she felt that she has no physical resemblance to the late actor.
"I was offered the biopic but I am not doing it. I was surprised that it came out in the media that I agreed to do it and have even started training in Kathak. I would have loved to do it... loved to play her on-screen," Vidya said, adding, "I loved the script but I feel that I have absolutely no physical resemblance to her. It is a Bengali film, so I feel Raima Sen, her grand daughter who looks like her, should be doing it," she added.
Vidya might have done this project if it were in Hindi. "If it were in Hindi, it was still okay as one can take certain liberties...but it is in Bengali," the actor said.
There were also reports of another biopic being offered to Vidya on late Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. However, she denied these reports. "I was not offered this film. I don’t know where this news came from," the Kahaani actor said.
Vidya has signed two films but she does not want to talk about them at the moment. "I have okayed two scripts but I can’t talk about it as of now," she said.
Meanwhile, the 37-year-old actor is looking forward to the release of her Mohit Suri directorial that also stars Emraan Hashmi and Rajkummar Rao.
