He played Priyanka Chopra’s young admirer in his debut film, Vishal Bhardwaj’s 7 Khoon Maaf (2011). Since then, however, Naseeruddin Shah’s younger son, Vivaan, hasn’t been seen on the big screen.
Now, we’ve come to know that he is the front-runner to bag the fourth male lead role in Farah Khan’s Shah Rukh Khan-starrer, Happy New Year, touted to be a musical-comedy about four men.
“Vivaan has gone through the screen test. Now, Farah needs to go through it before taking a final call. But both of them (SRK and Farah) are happy with the prospect of having him on board,” says an insider.
Other names like Sidharth Malhotra, Dev Patel, John Abraham and Ayushmann Khurrana have done the rounds for the same role.
When contacted, Farah confirms that Vivaan is being considered. “Yes, he has tested for us, along with 20-30 other boys, but I still have to see the test… I was in the hospital,” she says.
The choreographer-turned-filmmaker recently came home after spending 10 days in the hospital. She was admitted since she was suffering from high fever.
Farah is yet to cast the female lead, for the role of a bar dancer from Bhandup.
