A simple cuppa of Koffee has left sour aftertaste for many in the industry.
After the controversial Deepika-Sonam's Ranbir bashing with Karan on KJo's talk show Koffee With Karan, Rishi Kapoor has lashed out publically at Karan Johar. Now, he has embroiled Wake Up Sid director, Ayan Mukherji in it.
Reportedly Rishi has given him the difficult choice of picking between Ranbir or Karan. And Ayan has chosen to ditch KJo's camp in favour of Ranbir. Buzz is that Ayan has joined Studio 18.
According to sources, "Ayan aur Karan ka jhagda bahut badh gaya hai. Ayan has spoken to some big officials at Studio 18 and pitched his project asking them if they would like to produce his film. Studio 18 has welcomed him. Talks are on. Let's see what happens," reports Mumbai Mirror.
Another source confirmed to the tabloid, "We knew Ayan will stick with Ranbir. He can always move out from Dharma Productions and yet continue to make films." Ayan hasn't yet confirmed that Ranbir will star in this film. "But that is obvious. Ayan is simply holding his cards close to his chest. He wants his second big break very soon. Wake Up Sid (which starred Ranbir) is over and gone. Even if he doesn't cast Ranbir in his film for Studio 18, the fact remains that there is very strong friction between Karan and him at this moment. Or else why would he have gone to Studio 18 when his second film was going to be with none other than Dharma Productions?"Earlier too, many young directors like Nikhil Advani, Soham Shah have made the mistake of disassociating themselves from KJo's mentorship and failed to make a mark.
But Ayan doesn't need to be worried for falling out with his mentor. As luck would have it, the young whiz kid is Kajol and Rani Mukerji's cousin, his sister Sunita is married to Ashutosh Gowariker and he has a good relationship with Farhan Akhtar's camp!
