Actor Tahir Raj Bhasin says that he wants to take up work in different genres.

Actor Tahir Raj Bhasin, who is known for his role of a villain in Mardaani (2014), says that he wants to take up roles which challenge him as an actor. However, he says that he is not actively trying to look for such roles. “I am going with the flow at the moment. I understand that I need to take up quality work. I want to take up work in different genres,” he says. Tahir who is inclined on playing tough characters, adds, “I want to do interesting characters with depth, which are a part of great stories. In fact, if the character is quirky and challenging, that’s even better.”

“My wishlist of directors, who I want to work with is endless. I want to work with Vishal Bhardwaj, Dibakar Banerjee, Karan Johar and many more,” he adds.

Although his character in Mardaani was appreciated, he doesn’t think it’s risky to try a different character. “When something does well, everyone appreciates it. You celebrate this for sometime. But after this people want to see you do something different,” he says.

Tahir, who was also seen in a short film a month back, says that he wants to focus on Bollywood. “This was an
one-off for me. I want to be part of feature films at the moment. Having said that, I feel that short films are great for new talent. Be it actors or technicians, they can experiment in this medium. Plus there is a pressure of telling a story in less than five minutes, which makes you learn a lot,” he signs off.
