Some time back, a documentary was announced on the lives of Bollywood actors Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan. Titled Munna Bhai, Sallu Bhai — Killers or Healers, the film claims to provide a rare insight into the lives of Bollywood’s two most controversial actors, Salman and Sanjay.
Now, writer-director Muazzam Beg has apparently made a 10-minute preview, to give an idea as to what the film will be about. “It’s an independent docu-drama that we are going to make on a tight budget. This small film is like a precursor to what we are actually going to incorporate in the final version,” says Beg.
The 10-minute film will be shown in three cities—Delhi, Mumbai and Saharanpur in UP. “Saharanpur is a small town in UP, but it’s my hometown, and Delhi is a prime location to create awareness about the film,” he says.
In Mumbai, the screening will take place at the Gaiety-Galaxy theatres in Bandra, as this is the kind of venue where Salman and Sanjay’s films always run house full. “We are having the premiere on June 15 at Gaiety, as we will be able to reach the mass audience here,” says Beg.
Talking about the film, he says, “These are two very mass-y stars, who have also made news for the wrong reasons. But they also have a very human side to them. This film will give an insight into both sides of the stars.” The shoot for the film will start by July, and it is expected to be ready by December.
