With over 2 million clicks registered on Youtube, there's no doubt that Cocktail's catchy song Daaru Desi has become rather popular in just 2 weeks.
You'd think the song's stars Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone would agree but the truth is that both Saif and Deepika have gone on record to say don't like the song!
In candid footage of the making of the song Daaru Desi, the actors are seen having a ball. In the video, Saif says, "I HATE this song, let's move on from it!" followed by a rather tuneless and mocking version of the chorus.
Director Homi Adajania explains the context of the fun-filled song, "The friendship montage establishes these three friends who have an absolutely fabulous relationship and when they're together, it's like they're on Daaru Desi and time means nothings."
However, while Deepika admits that the moments in the song are really nice and there's a certain chemistry between the co-stars in the song, she says, "On a song level, I don't really like it."
The song has plenty of uncut moments and behind-the-scenes footage, which clearly shows the cast and crew having a good time while shooting.
Interestingly, according to Adajania, the film's producer Dinesh Vijan waged a bet on the popularity of this song, declaring that if the song didn't become a big hit, he would give the actors a lot of money. He even called the actors liars for allegedly not admitting they like the song.
Well, we don't know that but we do know is that that money not going anywhere from Vijan's pocket.
The making is a must-watch for both those who like and dislike the song.
